An unexpected boat trip π»π»π».
Writing this post the day after because boats make me sleepy π΄.
We started our day by driving to Demre to have breakfast and see the ancient city of Myra.
The first view of Demre is a little confusing, what's that sea of white?
Looking at Demre from above it doesn't look like there's much to it but when you drive down you realize that all the white things are actually greenhouses.
Our breakfast also had a greenhouse behind it, growing all sorts of things.
Another lovely restaurant in a garden with cats. There were also grapes covering the courtyard and a plum tree.
Thicc Turkish coffee with some dried fruit and little chocolate candies.
I cannot wait to have a Turkish breakfast party for my friends when I get back.
A guy that sat next to us at dinner the night before recognized my Turkish friend and they got to chatting about a boat trip. Thirty minutes later, we were on a boat to Kekova.
Kekova is uninhabited and features a sunken city that we toured around.
Part of the old port:
After Kekova we docked at Simena and hiked up to the castle.
I tried to hop a ride on this yacht but they couldn't hear my cries over their lavishing.
If there's one thing you should know about me, I like being on boats. Most kinds.
Here I am living my best life and I'm not sure how I even got here but damn, am I happy to be.
We stopped on our way back to Demre to swim a bit. The water was cold and salty and so beautiful π.
Our boat captain (who we found out built the boat we were on with his family in 2009) went on the land and picked some herbs.
And because we are never far from Γ§ay, we had a Γ§ay and cookie time.
We swung by a cave on our way back.
Docked back at Demre.
Then we rushed over to our original reason for coming to Demre, the ancient city of Myra.
This theater was definitely the largest that I've ever performed at, entertaining 10,000 ghosts.
After the sun set we headed back to KaΕ for dinner and a strollβ¦and more cats of course.
