Lovely lovely day / by Tahlia Roper

I've officially been in Türkiye for one week and today has been so very very lovely.

I had a proper Turkish breakfast conveniently one block from my Airbnb and this is definitely the best one I've had. Everything was so tasty.

Olives, cheeses, nuts, breads, preserves, some fried donuty thing, olive spread, a cucumber tomato salad, menemen (an egg dish with tomatoes and peppers, soooo tasty)…it was all just amazing…I'll def be back while I'm in Fethiye.

And çay of course.

This was set in a very cute garden at a house and of course there was also a cat.

After breakfast we hit the road and headed to Kaş, the drive there was also gorgeous as there are beautiful mountains all around.

Pulled over for a beverage a little outside of Kaş and saw this view 😻😩

The water is so blue and wonderful.

And THEN!!!

Kaputas Plajı, breath taking!!! We didn't swim…yet. Will definitely be down in that water soon though. This is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches that I've ever seen.

We continued onto Kaş and had a snack and beer while looking for a good spot to stay for the night.

These are Turkish spring rolls, pastry dough wrapped around cheese, not bad.

And Efes.

Found a hotel with a pool and a view and chilled out for a bit.

There is a sign that says, “Swimming is strictly prohibited for non swimmers” 🤣🤣🤣

If you can't, don't even try.

I mainly lounged.

A few hotel cats:

But then, just when I was wondering if the day could get any better…Dinner.

This meal y'all 😩😩😩

My favorite meal that I've had here so far 😭.

Grilled meats, dips(danger yogurt(spicy), hummus, a cucumber sage dip, Bulger wheat, a tomato-cucumber salad. Literally grapes growing above me 😭, I'm obsessed with this meal. Raki & more spicy Şalgam ❤️❤️❤️. This is my dream meal.

Now that all of my wildest dreams have come true, I'm good. Death may come as it wishes.

Kaş is amazing and by far my favorite place I've been in Türkiye.

If you are thinking about coming to Turkey, come to Kaş.

Everyone speaks Turkish to me because there is not one typical looking Turkish person and I think that's adorable. It's definitely something that I did not expect but they make all types of Turkish people here(even gingers) and I love that.

I mostly just motion and gesture my way into and out of things.

I happened upon this packed bar on my after dinner walk and they are playing American music and people are dancing so I instantly fell in love.

Another Efes, when in Türkiye.

And apparently 😂😂😂…

I love a good secret holding town.

Also…c'mon now tho with this sign:

Kaş, I'm in love with you 🥹🥹🥹.

In case you are wondering, the çay count for the day is at least 5. I'm with my very hospitable Turkish friend so I think that number is a minimum for the Turks.

I'm saying my teşekkür ederims like a turk-ish(thank yous) and having a great time.
