Simple and great.
Friday after work, I did my silly little weight lifting and then I took myself on an inheritance date. Inheritance Juicery is one of those places that I would visit in another city and wish that we had something similar in Tulsa. It's too good for Tulsa and I love it. I had a vegan kale caesar salad with tempeh, I'm neither Vegan or kale but it was delicious. After that treat, I went home and relaxed. I woke up Friday with a sore throat so I just wanted to rest and get back to 100%.
I don't like operating at anything less than 100%.
However on Friday even in my less than 100% I surpassed genius level on the NYT spelling bee, so according to the NYT I am a genius, the check should be coming in any day now. Definitely adding this to my resume.
Saturday morning was for breakfast club. Breakfast club is a smol get together with some of my girlfriends where we rant and support each other over a different breakfast. This week we went to Jane's Delicatessen and shared (part) of this bigger-than-your-face cinnamon roll.
It was simply massive, everything is made in-house.
After breakfast I finally got to check out a new vintage shop in town, The Boneyard. First of all, it's soooooo cute in there! Second of all, I actually lucked out and found a couple of pieces. One of them being a shirt that just simply whispers, “my husband is in the cartel”. Anyways it's my new favorite blouse and I feel blessed to have it.(pic further down)
I did a little more shopping to look for last minute items for Guatemala.
I went to Dillard's and was wow’d by this decor display, inspiring.
This decor leaves me with questions that perhaps I don't even want answered. The promenade mall has truly caved in, even the Dillard's has given up.
I did manage to score a super cute red jean jacket from Community Thrift, which washed my Dillard's sadness away.
After I got home I was blessed by the presence of my bff homie Andres(papi) 🇬🇹. He brought me coffee from his aunt that he didn't like 🤣 I'm sure I'll be into it. We sat around chatting and then as he was leaving I checked out his new boots and laughed so much at this phrase inscribed on them.
The best part of bull riding is meeting the nurse.
He's not a bull rider but I wouldn't be surprised if he had a thing for nurses. 🤣
He's a dear friend and it's always great to laugh with him.
Saturday night came fast and it was time for Salsa night at Lowdown.
I don't know how to salsa but I do know how to dance. I love dancing and live latin music, so I knew I had to go. My friends Calee and Drew joined and we had a great time. We popped over to Valkyrie for a cocktail prior to the show.
I just said that I want something floral and with Mezcal and they did not disappoint. They work off of a concept menu where you tell them attributes of a drink and they create something delightful for you.
We trompsed over to Lowdown and had fun learning how to salsa and stumbling over eachother.
This is a still from our newest movie, “Cartel Wives 3”.
Ok but seriously look at my amazing shirt with gold chains all over it.
It's silk, which means it's dry clean only, which means it's never getting clean. I'm ok with that.
After salsa we thought we might have more dancing in us so we went to check out the Soundpony.
One does not simply go to the Soundpony without a Soundpony bathroom selfie, these are the rules. I was holding her coat from whatever would fuse with it on the floor, given that I am short and the coat is long, I had to hold it high.
We just used the bathroom and left promptly because the vibes were off. We then trekked across downtown to St. Vitus but the line was long and discouraging. We called an Uber and had a donut, a sweet ending to a great day.
Sunday has also been a nice day, mostly chill. I did go to my bachata class. I had an afternoon snack and then came back home to work on some of this course that I've been taking on Pluralsight.
It's been a great weekend indeed.
This week will be chill as I wrap up this course, and wrap up Tulsa. I am heading to Guatemala for a month, a week from Monday!
The time has finally come for me to make my return.
