A shower thought last night / by Tahlia Roper

Who's going to get my data when I die?

Who will sift through my hundreds (thousands) of photos of my cat? I'm certainly not going to do it.

I don't plan on having children either.

How will google know that I've died? When I stop responding and searching for things? Does that send some sort of alarm to them?

“User 774555993344 hasn't had to search for a word that she already knows how to spell, something may be wrong”

And then regarding that last statement, will we ultimately lose our intuitions because we rely on the internet too much to tell us if we're right or wrong?

I do know how to get somewhere but I'll just let maps actually lead me…

I do know the meaning of that word but I like to make sure of it so I google it…

Something kind of embarrassing that came up for me recently:

I wanted to get a clock to look at in the morning to see what the time is(obviously, that's what clocks are for) instead of immediately being blasted with light from my phone…

Turns out it's been a long time since I've had to read a clock and the one I have does not have numbers, I might be being a little too honest here (hazard of being me) but it took an embarrassing amount of time for me to readjust to reading a clock and telling time…

Yowzers.

What is something that you've let the computer takeover for you?
